Laying out the plan....

I'm not unlike many 20-somethings you've come across in your everyday dealings. Shortly after graduating high school I discovered a deep seeded love for poker. The first site I ever deposited onto was Pokerroom.com, and I used to play limit poker at the library because it was played through a regular web browser. Since then I've deposited on countless sites, played a bunch of hands, but never really took things seriously. I would make half-assed attempts at putting together a bankroll, but I never did things the way I was supposed to.

Speaking of half-assing things, that would be a great way to describe my many attempts at going on a diet. I'm fat, plain and simple. I've got a litany of other health problems to go along with it, but somehow I always manage to find reasons why I need to eat fast food constantly, and down pizzas like they are going out of style. Numerous people in my life have urged me to go on a diet, and I always let them down.

Thus, the Journey to Robusto. I've finally decided that I've had it with walking around in pain all day. I've had it with depositing money onto a poker site only to eventually see it whittled down to nothing. This blog is my way of documenting my progress in both losing weight, and growing a bankroll. Its more for my sanity than anyone elses, which is why I'm not telling any of my family about it. If people happen upon this blog, or click the link from the sites I frequent to help in my learning, then great, but this is my way of holding myself accountable to my performance.

The gameplan for weight loss is simple. 6 days of dieting with 1 cheat day per week. On the 6 days of regular dieting I'll be limiting my caloric intake to 1600-2000 calories a day, while trying to limit my fat intake as well. I'm going to start eating 3 meals a day, with little snacks in between to make it easier on me. I will post weekly results for weight loss, whether I'm gaining weight or not.

The poker gameplan looks a little bit like this:

Site: Pokerstars
Starting Deposit: $150
Starting Games: It's either going to be SNGs or Full ring cash games. I'm currently undecided.

The diet starts January 3rd, so the weigh-in results will be posted before then. I'd like to get a deposit on to Pokerstars here shortly, maybe by tomorrow night. If I get it done I'll let you know how it goes. Until then, here's hoping for the best!
